5 Spiritual Affirmations to Counter Anxiety
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Patzia_Gonzalez]Patzia Gonzalez

What do you say to yourself when you’re not paying attention? What does the automatic pilot in you repeat all day? Most people have an ongoing negative inner talk criticizing and judging themselves for the shape of their body, their skin color and their perceived lack of perfection causing a high degree of anxiety. And then, of course, we apply the same negative thought process to others.

Spiritual affirmations are very similar to prayer. Instead of repeating an affirmation like: Every day in every way I’m getting better and better, you chose a meaningful phrase from a Spiritual source that can be of support to you and repeat it.

I find that many clients feel they are not worthy and this adds on to the anxiety they feel. It’s as if just before they were born someone-who?-stamped them with a seal that said: “Not worthy!” and they go through life seeking confirmation for this belief. They could just as easily seek confirmation for being worthy, and find that too. Their anxiety generates no end of negative beliefs about themselves that they repeat constantly. As part of their process I may suggest they choose one -or all-of the following affirmations. I do want to make it clear that this is only part of their process; go ahead and try it out. The trick is to memorize the Spiritual Affirmation so that it become what you repeat when you “aren’t looking,” and let it comfort you when anxiety strikes.

I am child of the Universe, no less than the trees and the stars, and whether it is clear to me or not, the Universe is unfolding as it should. (Desiderata)
The Lord is my Shepherd and I shall not want. (Psalm 23)
My words create mutual understanding and love. They are as beautiful as gems, as lovely as flowers. (Thich Nhat Hanh)
My inner dialogue reflects the fire of my soul. I am totally independent of the good or bad opinion of others. I am beneath no one. I am fearless in the face of any and all challenges. (Deepak Chopra)
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and your staff, they comfort me. (Psalm 23)

Chose the ones you like best and write them down on index cards. Carry these cards around with you and read them often. Soon you’ll memorize the Affirmation and it can become a part of you. I would love some feedback on which ones you picked and how they worked for you.

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Diane_Rosolen]Diane Rosolen

Affirmations vs. Afformations, I know what you are thinking, Afformations is not a word! Well, yes it is according to Noah St. John, AFFORMATIONS are a new technology of the mind.

Actually Noah invented the word and said that when you invent a new technology, you often need a new word to describe it.

Many of you know what an affirmation is, for those that do not: the act or an instance of affirming; state of being affirmed. the assertion that something exists or is true. something that is affirmed; a statement or proposition that is declared to be true. confirmation or ratification of the truth or validity of a prior judgment, decision, etc. Law a solemn declaration accepted instead of a statement under oath. So when you do your daily AfFIRMations you may say something like: I am so happy I am rich I am so happy my business is successful I am so happy I healthy and fit

Now that you have said an affirmation, your brain is searching for the riches, successful business, healthy and fit and since affirmations are simply a hope, the answer will not be there. now, if you do AfFORMations you may say something like:

Why am I not rich Why is my business not successful Why can’t I lose weight

Now your brain is looking for the answers to these questions and surprisingly you get the answer and now you know what to do in order to achieve your riches, successful business and lose weight.

This past week I was pretty sick with bronchial pneumonia and had an abundance of time to do a lot of thinking.

Since I was unable to make calls due to the fact Ihad virtually no voice and whatever voice I did have, well,

I sounded like Rocky with a fractured voice box. I started to write down afFORMations and amazingly, the answers came right to me as if they were on sticky notes on my desk the entire time…here are some examples:

afFORMation ~ Why can’t I lose weight?

answer ~ Duh, you need to work out, walk, move the body!

afFORMation ~ Why can’t I get always get a yes from people about my business?

answer ~ You’re NOT making enough calls, its a numbers game.

afFORMation ~ Why don’t I feel successful?

answer ~ Because you may think you are doing what it takes to be successful, but you don’t. You MUST be consistent with the same routine EVERYDAY to see the results of success!

WOW, is all I could think of when I started this test, a real eye and brain opener. Now that I got the answers from my brain addressing my afFORMations, I know what I must do to make them afFIRMative.

So this is what you need to do in order to find the honest answers in your life and apply them:

1. Question yourself on paper and when the answer comes to you, and it will, write it down next to your afFORMation
2. apply the answers every day and before you know it, voila’ when you do your afFIRMations, your brain WILL have the answers.

AfFIRMation ~ I am so happy I am healthy and fit

answer ~ Of course you are, you worked very hard eating right and working out

AfFIRMation ~ I am so happy my business is so successful

answer ~ All those phone calls, networking, passing out business cards really paid off, good job!

Positive Affirmations and the Power of Positive Thinking
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Jurgen_Mennel]Jurgen Mennel

There is negativity and hopelessness all around us- there is no doubt about that. Go into a public place at any given time of the day-preferably a metro or an office-and you can see dissatisfaction etched on many faces. Positive thought is largely absent in modern society; there just doesn’t seem to be a lot of room for positive thinking these days.

Our mind can be compared to a garden; whatever we sow in it grows manifold. This is true of the negative thoughts, as well as the positive thoughts, though it is another matter altogether that we seldom think about positive affirmations.

If you pause to consider your own life for a minute, ask yourself this question: what are the dominant thoughts that go through your mind night and day? Do you see yourself hoping for success or do you discard all positive thoughts and instead focus on failure and mediocrity, which is what eventually manifests in your life?

Positive affirmations in Life
Very simply put, positive affirmations mean that you feed your mind positive thoughts. You will become what you think about most! You will need to adopt a whole new mental attitude toward life and success. The feeding of those positive thoughts is the key, sun that and your success will skyrocket.

Positive thought is primary in your life. No matter what direction you decide to work toward, your level of success will always be dictated by how deeply rooted your positive thoughts are, and how much positive mental attitude you possess.

To achieve this, many techniques like auto-suggestion, self-hypnosis, etc., have been developed, but some people still find them a little hard to understand and deploy.

This is why we decided to take the positive affirmations theory to the next level and come out with courses and effective training to help you develop more positive affirmations and live a more fulfilling life.

Take charge today!

Your life is in your hands, and until YOU decide to change and work on it for the better, there cannot be any real progress. Remember that self-belief is the primary requirement of success, and it is only through positive affirmations that you can develop this enviable quality.

The decision, therefore, rests with you. Positive affirmations can work for you only when you let them, and the best way to do that is to learn from an able resource. Take help from our vast experience to make your life better and more rewarding.

Jurgen Mennel is living life to the fullest. Skydiving and base-jumping are just a few of his hobbies. He is running several successful businesses and understands that success begins in the mind. Jurgen has created a powerful tool that anyone can use to accelerate success. Find out more on Jurgens Blog http://www.reflectaffirm.com/blog or on his Website http://www.reflectaffirm.com

3 Techniques For Using Affirmations to Create Fast Changes
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Chrisanthia_Pierre]Chrisanthia Pierre

Creating fast changes in your life is easy when you know how to use affirmations to alter your mind as well as physical reality. Affirmations serve to alter your mind at the deepest levels where your present beliefs are held. The only way to truly alter your deeper beliefs is to affirm new beliefs. The moment the new belief is received by the inner mind your entire existence begins to move in the direction of the new belief. All of this happens on auto pilot without a lot of effort to match your new thinking.

At this moment your life is happening on auto pilot to support the belief that you presently have going on inside of your head. You create the same situations again and again, you attract the same people, and your body stays the same and so on. Change is near impossible until you learn how to create a new inner script.

Here are 3 Techniques You Need For Affirmations to Work Fast:

Create Trust in the Power of Thought – One way to build trust in the power of the spoken word is to read all that you can on the subject of the mind. Reading and immersing yourself in these secrets of the mind will gradually build confidence within you. Read every day for a month. Don’t read today then go back to your old truth. Flood your mind with new truths about the use of affirmations to trigger your mind power.
Get Fired Up – Affirmations take energy to produce results. When you get excited and emotionally changed your affirmations generate creative energy. That creative energy translates to spiritual power in motion. Get into an excited and emotional state to match the nature of your affirmations in order for them to work.
Be Consistent – Right now you are using the power of thought to lock yourself into the situation that you are presently experiencing and you are doing so all the time. In order to produce powerful new changes you have to affirm the new changes so they supersede any thought power that you give to your present condition. You have to affirm for duration of time in order to see results.

How To Make Law Of Attraction Affirmations Work For You
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Patrick_Antle]Patrick Antle

Though the law of attraction has become quite popular in the recent times, this law used to be applied even in ancient times. It is believed that in China and India, this law was used by people centuries ago. Philosophers like Henry David Thoreau and Ralph Waldo Emerson have talked about it extensively. Mahatma Gandhi used this law for getting freedom for India. He believed firmly that India would attain independence and worked tirelessly towards it. He used to tell his followers repeatedly that the British would soon leave India and that India would be free from the colonial rule. Such repeated assertions by him are nothing but law of attraction affirmations. If you go through the history of mankind, you can see several examples of how the law of attraction affirmations have worked miracles.

Emerson had made a crisp statement that “A man is what he thinks about all day long.” This statement clearly proves that he believed in the law of attraction. A simple explanation to this statement is that we attract what we focus on. It can be a positive thing or a negative one. The law will not be able to differentiate between positive affirmations or negative affirmations.

If you repeatedly make a statement, it becomes an affirmation. So, if you want to achieve something in your life, you should practice to make these law of attraction affirmations. Some people prefer writing these affirmations and a few experts on the law of attraction opine that the power of the written word is much more than the power of the spoken word. Simply speaking or writing the statement without any emotions will not get you the results. There are certain emotions that will immediately trigger the law of attraction to work. Of all the emotions, faith is the most powerful one. So, you should believe that you will certainly get the thing you aspire for. It may be money or a life partner or anything. You should repeat the affirmations with a firm belief. In fact, you should go a step ahead and imagine that you have already got the thing you wanted. You should also imagine that you are feeling happy with the thing since it has already come to you. If you visualize and imagine like this, you are sure to get it very soon.

In addition to such an optimistic feeling, you should also express your gratitude to the law because you are very much sure to receive the thing you aspire for. This is the most important part of the law of attraction affirmations because by expressing your gratitude, you are probably binding the law to make a commitment that it will deliver to you what you want.

Positive Thinking Power: Retrain Your Brain
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Michelle_Enis_Vasquez]Michelle Enis Vasquez

My late husband was a great fan of Muhammad Ali. He grew up under difficult circumstances when his father contracted tuberculosis and spent two years in a sanatorium. During those formative years, he and his friends would listen to Ali’s fights on the radio, and television if they were lucky.

In my late husband’s childhood and adolescence, Ali was the champion of the “little” people, the poor and downtrodden. As he grew older, he realized that what made him such a fan of Muhammad Ali was the constant positive self-talk. While many saw his professions of “I am the greatest” as obnoxious and conceited, my late husband realized that Ali was talking to himself out loud, reinforcing the beliefs he was instilling in himself. Those beliefs, repeated constantly, made him a champion.

Together we watched Spike Lee’s documentary, “When We Were Kings” over and over. I caught onto the infectious affirmations, understanding that I, too, could use them to recreate myself.

Ali backed up his self-affirmations with all the hard work, dedication, and discipline a winner needs to become and remain a champion. He was far from being “all talk and no action.” He lived with his belief that he was “the greatest.” I don’t know if he learned this from someone or if it was intuitive for him.

Nowadays it’s almost impossible to avoid hearing about positive affirmations. Back in the 1960′s this was not so common. Do you want some of that power that comes from truly believing in yourself? You only have to get online and look up “positive thinking” or “affirmations” and learn so much about how to change your mind and create the life you want.

It is not a simple task. It does take dedication and effort to retrain your brain, especially if you have learned to talk meanly about yourself and think negatively. Begin with small steps and give yourself a break when you stumble. You too, can be “the greatest” you are capable of being. It starts with a desire, even if you don’t yet believe it.

What is the first small, action step you can take toward retraining your brain to think in a newer, more positive way? I would suggest that you start by deciding on a few positive things you may not believe yet, but want to believe about yourself. Write them in a notebook daily. Think about them and say them aloud every day before you go to bed and first thing as you awake for at least 30 days.

It’s a start. Keep going and when you stumble with a negative thought, get rid of it by simply saying “cancel that.” If you want more help with retraining your brain, contact me by going to http://trueloverelationshipcoaching.com and scheduling a free Get Acquainted session.

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Richard_Romando]Richard Romando

Motivation can be defined in a number of ways. Generally, it is defined as a driving force that initiates and directs behavior. In other words, motivation is a kind of internal energy which drives a person to do something in order to achieve something. It is a temporal or dynamic state within a person which is not concerned with his/her personality. There are different types of motivation such as achievement motivation, affiliation motivation, competence motivation, power motivation, and attitude motivation.

Motivation is based on three specific aspects such as the arousal of behavior, the direction of behavior, and persistence of behavior. Arousal of behavior involves what activates human behavior and direction of behavior is concerned with what directs behavior towards a specific goal. Persistence of behavior is concerned with how the behavior is sustained.

Various studies have been conducted to understand the different motives that drive a person to success. Motives are categorized into three: homeostatic motives, nonhomeostatic motives, and learned or social motives. Almost all the motives belong to one or more of these three groups.

Motives such as thirst, hunger, respiration, and excretion are included in homeostatic motives. Nonhomeostatic motives include required activities such as seeking shelter and curiosity about the environment. Curiosity, a desire for novelty, power, achievement, social affiliation, and approval are considered as learned motives or social motives.

Motivation is essential to be successful in any endeavor you undertake. It can be positive or negative, subtle or obvious, tangible or intangible. It is very important in workplaces as it plays a key role in the effective performance of employees. In industry, managers play a significant role in employee motivation. They use different motivation techniques to improve productivity, thereby promoting cooperation between employees and employers.

Learning is somewhat interrelated to motivation. In education, instructors also use motivation techniques in order to motivate the students to learn. It is essential to increase student motivation as it can make a student more competent. Also, motivation encourages self confidence and problem-solving skills.
Anyone who tells you that their work environment is good, is also going to tell you that they may have a manager that gives a lot of positive motivation to make the workplace more enjoyable. This can help employees have a better attitude at work and can also lead to better performance as far as sales is concerned. This can also contribute to better work ethic in employees as well as managers.

Managers may often times give good energy to their employees to help them have a better attitude and having a good relationship with your employees can ensure better success. Having a bad mood or one bit of negative energy can really damper the entire day as well as the mood of your co-workers.

One good thing to keep in mind is to have a good attitude and always ensure you are in a good mood when you are at work. Any bad mood can affect the customers as well, and this is what keeps your business running. Always think of the good in every situation and always have an upbeat and happy attitude.

If you are a manager, you may want to re-consider who your staff is. Even if there is one person that is always negative or has a negative impact on other employees, this may not be the best staff member to have. You can tell them about this and see if the employee can change his attitude, or you may have to eliminate him. This will only cause downfalls in the long run.

Another good tip for positive motivation is to hold business meetings and maybe get a motivational speaker. These speakers are designed to help get staff and business people motivated to have great sales and have a better outlook on the workplace even if times are hard at the moment.

These are all things to consider when giving positive motivation to workers and to ensure your business or office runs a little smoother.

Student motivation refers to a student’s interest, desire, compulsion, and need to participate in and be successful in the learning process. It is generally accepted that student motivation plays a key role in academic learning.

Highly motivated students actively engage more in the learning process than less motivated students. Motivated students have a positive impact on learning. They take advantage of a given opportunity and show intense effort and concentration in the implementation of learning process. Also, they reveal positive emotions such as excitement, enthusiasm, interest, and optimism during learning.

On the other side, the less motivated were found to be less interested in participating in the learning process. Most of them were physically present in the class room but were mentally absent. They often failed to actively engage themselves in the learning tasks. Such students were more likely to stop learning. Less motivated students should be guided so as to develop a favorable attitude towards the learning process.

A teacher or an instructor has a significant role in guiding less motivated students. A technique called attribution retraining, which includes modeling, socialization, and practice exercises, is used to restructure less motivated students. Its aim is to help students to concentrate on the learning task without the fear of failure.

There are two types of student motivation such as extrinsic motivation and intrinsic motivation. Extrinsic motivation is defined as the motivation to engage in an activity in order to obtain rewards or to avoid punishments from an external source. Extrinsically motivated students undertake an activity for the sake of getting good grades or a teacher’s approval. Extrinsic motivation is again divided into two such as social motivation and material motivation. Social motivations include approval of teachers, parents, and friends. Good grades, future education, or job security come under material motivations.

Intrinsic motivation refers to engaging in an activity for its own sake, for the pleasure and enjoyment it provides. To be more precise, a student who is intrinsically motivated carries out an action for the learning it permits. Compared to extrinsic motivation, intrinsic motivation is more desirable as it is the motivation to engage in the learning process for the enjoyment of learning without considering its consequences.

Positive Inner Talk
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=KimChell_Haskell]KimChell Haskell

Do you criticize your looks or berate an aspect of your self more often than not? When you pass a mirror do you hone in on a perceived fault and say something negative to your self? Do you notice that your inner talk is more disapproving than it is supportive of you? If any of the above rings true for you I think you’ll enjoy this article.

Your body, thoughts, and words are three of the cars on this lot of life that you truly have ownership of; you can decide if they’re going to be your Rolls Royce or your Jalopy. Human beings require that they be provided with nutrient rich fuel, regular exercise, and loving, supportive inner talk in order to function at their most optimum level.

Think of your body as a small child who is vulnerable, impressionable, carefree, and happy in life. What do you think would happen if you told a child that you hate their thighs because you perceive them as fat, found fault with their seemingly larger than “normal” nose, or told them they were terrible at playing? You’d most certainly crush them. At the very least you’d have made a damaging mark on their self-esteem and likely given them body and career issues that will be the billboards along their life’s highway. The same thing happens to you when you’re put down, either from your self or by another, rather you’re conscious of it or not.

If that small child within you is constantly being put down how do you think you will progress in any area of your life? Do you think you will freely try new things, walk and speak with confidence, have a knowing that you deserve the best and that everything in life is available to you? It’s much more likely that quite the opposite will be true for you.

Somewhere along your way, probably somewhere during your childhood, you got it into your head that you’re not good enough, that some aspect of your self is not good enough just the way it is. Every time you point out a perceived flaw or beat your self up over mistakes both big and small you affirm this to your self. These thoughts, words, and actions are all laden with emotion and feelings.

The more feeling you have associated with a thought, word, or an action, the more deeply entrenched those thoughts and response paths become. Emotions and feelings are very powerful construction crews in the mind. Whatever is thought with great feeling leaves a deep imprint along the pathway in the mind. You may have thought, talked, and acted this way so much, for so long, that these have become your default thoughts and responses. These routine routes you’ve taken are littered with negative thoughts, negative affirmations, and just plain icky ole feelings.

The great thing about a thought though is that it can always be changed!

In order to change these deeply engrained trails of thought you must be consistent in your reconstruction efforts.

Definition of Affirmation
I suggest positive affirmations to assist you in making positive thinking second nature to you. To me affirmations are positive statements about you, your body, your abilities, and really any and every aspect of life. I post some of my affirmations to my computer monitor so I can always be reminded of a thought that may be nicer than the one I’m having.

About a year ago I got in the habit of saying my affirmations in front of the mirror. I had been reading Louise Hay’s book, You Can Heal Your Life, in which she made the suggestion to do so. She was quick to point out just how corny and apprehensive you may feel at first, and she was right… I did feel corny! But I noticed that I couldn’t help but smile when I looked into the mirror, into my own eyes and said something nice.

Every thought, every word, and every action has a feeling associated with it. Saying a positive affirmation to your self, especially while in front of the mirror, comes with a good feeling. All of which begins the changing and the reconstruction of the old thought paths to ones that are better suited to the life you desire and to the life you deserve.

When I started doing affirmations I didn’t want any unsupportive crap from anyone on this new practice or how I was training my mind to think differently; so I didn’t share with anyone who I thought might not be open to these ideas. You don’t need another reason to feel self-conscious and it doesn’t matter what someone else thinks… it only matters what you think.

It’s your thinking and your thinking alone that determines the quality of your life.

My affirmations tend to lean more towards expressing gratitude for what I obviously have and even for that which is presently unseen by my eye. I believe that gratitude allows what I clearly have to grow like a seed in nutrient-rich soil. Gratitude also plants new seeds for that which I desire but that which is not a part of my current reality. I think of gratitude like a “miracle growth agent” added to your current state of well-being which allows it to flourish.

I encourage you not to take my word on these claims but rather to apply your self to this concept. Use any of the affirmations below that suit you or any positive affirmation you may find or create for your self and your goals; note the changes you experience within. At the very least I am confident that you will drastically reduce the amount of separation you have felt between your mind and body.

Below are some of my own inspirational quotes to get you started. I recommend saying your affirmations out loud so as to not let your mind wonder. Say them with as much feeling as you can muster up. Say your affirmations with meaning while you drive your car, and write them out with joy in the same way that you use to write out your spelling words in elementary school. Place them where you’ll see them often. Place a post-it in your purse or your wallet that lists some of your favorites.

I am grateful:
* For the youthful feeling I have.
* For the laughter I experience every day.
* For this glorious body I get to live my life in.
* For all the love in my heart.
* For my hands that allow me to write, type, touch, grasp, & hold whatever I want.
* For all the money I have.
* For my wonderful car.
* For my wonderful job that allows me to use my creative talents and abilities.
* For the thoughts and insights I have.
* For the inspiration I have.
* For my family.
* For my friends.
* That I am a part of this wonderful world.

I hope this article helps you with your positive thinking.
